STRONG’S voice and music is heard on FM and AM Radio Stations, in movie theatres, CD’s, cassette tapes, videos, internet, and live throughout the U.S. of America crossing the globe from Nigeria to India over to Japan. He has scored music for documetaries, opened for world renown Gospel Artists, Yolanda Adams, shared stages with the late Johnnie Wilder, Jr., Mighty Clouds of Joy, gospel ensembles Acappella, Committed, ASAP, TSI and Straight Company, performed with The University of Houston Chorus in the Latin Opera- “Verdi Requiem” conducted by Robert Shaw, sung the U.S. National Anthem with The Houston Chorus in Sports Centers before audiences of thousands, crooned for nursing homes, the sick and shut in, youth, seasoned saints, conferences, anniversaries, celebrations, fellowships, funerals, mayoral candidate announcements, memorials, weddings and performed in AL, AR, AZ, CA, FL, GA, IL, KY, LA, MA, MD, MO, MS, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OK, SC, TN, TX, WA, WI and WV. Born January 8, 1976 in Houston, TX. now residing in College Park(Atlanta), GA., as a music producer and vocalist, Cornelius "The STRONG" Edwards began composing and writing at an early age. Like most untrained musicians he was always creating rhythms on tables, buckets and anything that made noise with his family and friends. He began to pursue a serious music career in 1994 producing instrumentals, writing lyrics and singing. After his 1st year at the University of Texas, at Austin STRONG returned to Houston using his God given talent and joined an acappella 8 member coed ensemble, called “Voices Like Heaven”. 1997 STRONG began as a recording artist recording the album, Southern Fried Rippin’ by “Platinum Playaz”, a duo comprised of STRONG and his talented cousin Demond “Playa Tay” Conner. 2 years later STRONG officially recorded his first gospel song “I Will Open Up My Heart” produced by Dorian Paul Williams in 1999 with a 6 man group called "Pure A cappella Inc." The highly anticipated single was recorded but never released because sickness struck one of the group members and they dispersed. Cornelius’ third attempt at recording was successful and God allowed STRONG to finish and release an album in 2000, entitle Persuaded with “The Soul Influence”, produced by Jesse Murrah- *Essej* of Straight Company. STRONG co-wrote/ arranged and soloed verses on the album. Guided by God, STRONG Departed the group in 2001, ventured off as a solo producer/ vocalist/ writer/ composer/ and arranger. He was blessed with the opportunity to produce a talented 4 member female group, “The Lively Stones”. They released an album in 2002 entitled “No Words". STRONG wrote and featured on the song A Saint’s Comfort. In 2006, Cornelius “The STRONG” Edwards soloed a lead on "I want Jesus to walk with me" on “South Unions Adult Chorus” album, “Guide Me”, directed by Bro. E. Crosby out of South Union Church of Christ in Houston, TX. That same year, STRONG wrote the verses and featured on "Thank You for the Blood” on “The Houston Chorus” album, “The Lord Bless You and Keep You” directed by Sis. B. Bradley. Building the resume everyone was waiting on STRONG'S first solo project and God delivered in 2007. “God is Always There!” Volume 1 & 2; 20 original arranged spiritual songs split into 2 CD’s. All of the songs are written by Cornelius except for the *STRONG* Remix of the well known, Amazing Grace. The fall of 2007 Cornelius scored music for the documentary, “Essence of Martial Arts” which was toured with the Pan African Film Festival. 2008 STRONG released another CD, "The Greatest Story Ever Told " 12 song focusing on God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost. STRONG was nominated by the Members Choice Awards (MCA's) for Producer, Album, Songwriter, Spoken Work Artist and Record Label of the Year in 2008. Later the NACAMA made STRONG the CAMA 2008 New Artist of the Year. Even though Cornelius "The STRONG" Edwards is a one man ministry, he sings and fellowships with all the saints of God when the opportunity presents itself and is now in fellowship with an coed ensemble named Blessed with Harmony. He’s the total package. STRONG’S lyrical skills and arrangements open your mind to deep rhythmic rhyme schemes and his singing has taken him all cross the US to perform. The Copyright office in Washington DC, MD knows STRONG’S name. He has music on file to last two lifetimes.
