Here is one of the many inspiring videos shown at the Missional Outreach Seminar. It is an example of missional ministry that flows out of people's hearts in response to the needs of the community.

“James is exceptionally well-read, thoughtful, and experienced. I recommend him as a resource to help your congregation understand and undergo Missional renewal.”
--Dr. Gailyn Van Rheenen, Facilitator of Church Planting at Mission Alive, Author of Missions

"James is equipping people for church work in the 21st century. He has a great process
for finding lost people, bringing them to faith, and finding new purpose in the body of Christ."  --Bruce Bates, Northeast/New England Coordinator and Director of Coaching for Kairos Church Planting.

You may have heard the term “missional” thrown around and wondered what it means.  Or you may be very familiar with the concept, but need help bringing about missional transformation; If so, I would love to help.

The word “missio” means “sent,” and so the missional church concept is that of a church which has been sent out into the world.  In other words, mission is not one among many things that the church does; the church is missional.

The missional nature of the church is based upon the sending action and mission of God.  Jesus said to his disciples, “As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you” (Jn. 20:21).  As the sent out body of Christ, we seek to fulfill Christ’s stated mission to the world--to seek and save the lost (Lk. 19:10), serve and give our lives for others (Mk. 10:45), and proclaim the good news of Jesus and the kingdom of God (Mk. 1:15, 38).

I have been blessed to study with some of the top missional leaders in the world, including Alan Hirsch, author of The Shaping of Things to Come and The Forgotten Ways, and Reggie McNeal, author of The Present-Future. I hope to pass on these insights as well as real world experience in missional work in a local church.

"Just to clarify, in my previous comment I was not implying that worldly success was of no value. It is very valuable, but while it can show wisdom in particular fields, it is not primary in showing spiritual wisdom and a willingness to love and care…"

Cameron Blair replied to Lynn S. Nored's discussion Do We Have or Should We Have Elders That Are Leaders? in the group Leadership and Vision
"I agree with you that there is a significant lack of qualified/trained elders/leaders. I have found there is a significant lack of those able to discern and lead well within church leadership, and often the theory of Scripture can be left as theory…"

Cameron Blair replied to James Nored's discussion Position Yourself for Leadership in the group Leadership and Vision
"Leadership is a funny subject. There are many different types and standards of leaders inside and outside the church. Sometimes it is not about who a person is as a leader but what another person as a follower is looking for in and for themselves…"
