I am the pastor of a traditional Baptist church but I have grown tired of the lack of connection with the community and the stance on "seperation." I am looking to connect in a missional/incarnational way. I have started 2 communities at my church and am looking for some friends and ideas.
Rev. Dan Fowler said… Hi James. We are near the end of a two year mission study for our congregation. I went to a missional church conference back in November in San Francisco, and became interested in the missional church model for our congregation. Our two church leader groups are studying A Field Guide for the Missional Congregation by Rick Rouse and Craig Van Gelder. We hope to have a new vision and mission statement crafted by early fall after we complete the book, and some new ideas on reaching out to the world in Christ's name. Our congregation is holding its own, but is in need of reaching out to an un churched, "Spiritual but not religious" community.Our congregation is getting older, and we need to re do church, so that there will be a church here in 25 years:)
