About Me

James Nored's Facebook profile
My name is James Nored. I have been married to my lovely wife, Becki, for seventeen years, and I have three lovely daughters-Gina (13), Emily (10), and Kaylee, (2). I have a passion for mission, preaching, outreach, connecting to postmodern culture, Spiritual gifts, and ministering to people--as well as Dallas-based sports teams!

I am the minister at the Fairfax Church of Christ in Fairfax, VA, a suburb of Washington, D.C. I completed my Doctor of Ministry at Fuller Theologial Seminary in Pasadena, CA. I have studied there with incredible missional leaders.

I like starting new ministries, such as this website, which is designed to bring together people across the world who have a passion for mission. I give Missional Church and Spiritual gifts seminars around the country, and I enjoy writing and developing missional resources. Some of my sites include: www.storyofredemption.com and www.YourSpiritualGifts.com.

Ideas for How to Approach Mother's Day Sermons/Messages and Make Them Redemptive

He suggested and we discussed together some of the approaches listed below. Thanks, JR!Mother's Day sermons and the like can be challenging, I think. We want to address…See More

Dr. James Cail was a popular psychology teacher at Oklahoma Christian University who often filled in and preached at one of the local churches there in Oklahoma City. Dr. Cail had quite a sense of humor, which is helpful in preaching. And besides his folksy style, he had a memorable way of speaking, using descriptive words.  For instance, for some reason I remember him talking about a "foot long" barrel in a message, some twenty years later. Twenty years! The infographic below explains why…See More

Since I joined this website ( Nov 28 , 2009), it became a part of my spiritual life . I am learning a lot and having many good friends. You are the great leader and speaker in the mission field of kingdom of God .
In addition to this, I am so greatful to you for your wonderful books Story of Redemption . they are very helpful in my ministry . I am using them in small group studies, as correspondence course and one of curriculum of my weekly school . many are coming to Christ thru these good books. I am sure Telugu version also can draw many souls for Christ .
Waiting for video series of Story of Redemption and mobile app. Glad Story of Redemption books are going to be printed in many languages of the world.
Thank you for this wonderful website, love , encouragement and tireless efforts to connecting all saints at one place.

Thanks! My wife and I are both teachers in our public school system, so we believe this - in and of itself - is missional. I've also participated in three mission trips to Dzerzhinsk, Ukraine. This experience has had quite an impact on my perspective of missional outreach, and the role it plays in sharing Jesus with others. As an insightful friend once said - "If we meet their physical needs first, the spiritual needs will take care of themselves."

Hi Brother, can you post the video of your last Sunday sermon -" love your God , love people and change the world" ? if possible ?

yes it is a responsibility of every Christian to love God and love people to change the world by taking the Gospel to perishing souls .

Thank you for your love, your tools and for Bibles for India work .

My age group is looking for deep spiritual fulfillment. Often what we get is surface and disingenuous and I think we get that because the church thinks we are surface and disingenuous. But we aren't. You mentioned Apple in you article about how the church is missing the mark in communicating with my generation, but I felt after reading the article that you may have missed the reason Apple resonates with many of us. Take a listen to this, it sums up how I feel pretty well: http://www.ted.com/talks/simon_sinek_how_great_leaders_inspire_action.html
I've given it a lot of thought and this is just one piece, but it's a good place to start.

I'd like to be and have been trying a place to fit in with some difficulty, partially my own partially external. My demographic doesn't feel like a focus with the Church; It's like they don't know what to do with us.

Yes! I very much like what I do.

I found the site from an article about why young people are leaving the church. I had a response prepared but didn't feel up to it a few days later, because my response would have been strongly contrarian and wasn't sure it would have been constructive.
