Thanks, John! Yes, I agree. Noah's dark mindset and intent (which, thankfully, he does not follow through with) are probably the most disturbing elements for Christians.
- While Noah is described as a righteous man (and he has many righteous moments in the film), that does not mean that he was perfect of capable of dark things; David killed women and children, committed adultery, had Urriah killed, etc.
- Noah is motivated to do what he is thinking of doing because of the darkness that he sees in all of humanity, even himself and his family; and the biblical account bears this out, as Noah later gets drunk, Ham looks on his father's nakedness, and the world is a mess again by the time of the Tower of Babel

I will address this more in a blog post. Thanks for reading and sharing, John!!
I like what you wrote James!…tag:missionalnetwork.ning.com,2014-03-29:2422312:Comment:960872014-03-29T12:04:25.339ZJohn Dobbshttp://missionalnetwork.ning.com/profile/JohnDobbs
I like what you wrote James! Interesting movie... I was more disturbed by Noah's almost psychotic breakdown on the boat than I was the fanciful notions throughout the story.
