It is a result of technology that let's people interact instantly when they otherwise cannot. I am on a newly constituted Engineering Advisory Council for Oklahoma Christian University. At the council, the need for establishing "community" -- a postmodern need-- was evident in students. Faculty can also benefit greatly from the interaction this provides. We will be establishing a social networking site for Engineering Education to capitalize on and benefit from this growing medium.
