Tonight I had two amazing studies that I know were led by the Holy Spirit working through me and our Friendspeak program.

First I studied with a young mother from Iran.  We were on our 13th week of Friendspeak in the book of Luke.  Friendspeak is a program that allows us to teach English using portions of the Bible from the books of Luke, Acts John and beyond.  Tonight Bitah and I studied about the transfiguration, and we had an awesome study about the difference between Moses and Elijah and the Christ.

We talked about light and God's glory and the difference between mere prophets, as important as they are, and the Son of God. Then Bitah talked to me about death and near death experiences....about light and how there is no darkness with God.  She was very happy about the study, and so was I.

The second hour I study English with Bitah's mother, Sedi, and Leila, who is also from Iran, Wendy, a Chinese lady, and tonight a very intense young single Syrian woman came into our meeting.  She called me this week, and I invited her.  In the middle of our English class, where we were talking about last names and the titles, Mr., Mrs. and Ms. and Miss, we got into a discussion about men and women.  From there I told the ladies how much God values women and how Jesus valued them in His ministry, respected them and allowed them to be part of His work.

Then the Syrian woman began to tell her story.  Her entire family, a part of a religious sect not Muslim in her country has been decimated by ISIS,  She said every time she calls home and her parents don't answer she thinks they are dead.  She said her aunt in Syria had a knock on her door and a big trash bag was on her front porch.  Inside was her son, cut up into pieces.

The young woman was in tears.  So were the rest of us, even those who did not understand her words.  Her face proclaimed her life.  She told me that she X'd out religion from her life, but God....something.....called to her heart.  I told her God is calling her.

She and I are beginning our Bible study next Thursday.  Pray for us.

"Be ready in season and out of season to give a reason for the hope that is in you." Usually summer is "out of season" for us.  But a missionary family from Let's Start Talking and the founder of Friendspeak came and increased our vision greatly this summer!  Praise God for them!
