"Great reminder that we all have been called to the minisry of reconciliation. Saved to bring others to Christ. Unfortunately our focus has changed over the years. I would say that we don't have "expectations" for each disciple to be…"

God prepares the soil and the sower

What a great post! Thanks...we are studying how God prepares the soil in a stranger's heart to hear the words that He has impressed upon the sower's heart. God prepared Peter by letting down the sheet of unclean animals and God prepared the heart of Cornilius. God prepared and opened the heart of Lydia. God is working in the world today in ways we cannot imagine to prepare those whom we need to open our eyes to-- a field white for harvest. The Holy Spirit works on the hearts of people who are…See More

Christ-centered interpretation

I have been taught since a child and now also teach that the text should be viewed as revealing Christ to the world. My dad taught:The Old Testament is Christ in EXPECTATION. When we read the stories and accounts, if we don't see Christ...we have not looked deep enoughThe Gospels are Christ in INCARNATIONThe Letters are Christ in EXPLANATIONAnd the last book is Christ in REVELATIONI have to agree with you. Instead of just teaching Daniel in the lion's den or Noah in the Ark to young children,…See More
