This Present Darkness - Frank Peretti

I hope everyone will read this one. It's a really great book. I know some are hesitant, but pray and ask God for discernment before reading it. It should be worth it.

We'll meet at Tom Thumb - 3001 Hardin Blvd., McKinney, TX 75070.
January 15th, is that right?

I am really looking forward to it! I hated missing last month. Speaking of which, Casey, I still have your book. I will try to have it a church on Sunday.

We missed you last month too. No hurry on returning the book.

The discussion last night was lively and interesting. I heard it stated in various ways that the book reminded all that Satan is very much alive in this world and is joyful when he can deter us from living the good life God has given us, but that we are able to cast him away from us through desire, courage, and prayer. The significance of the words offered up in Jesus' name denouncing Satan was discussed as was the power of the combined prayers of many. We need more of both.
It was good to have been with the group tonight! I'm already thinking of someone to bring along with me next month!

Go Donna! Right on!
We ALL need to invite someone next month! Do it now, though, so they have time to read it. :)

I totally agree with everything Donna said. We had a GREAT discussion last night...

To add to what Donna said.... Satan has read Genesis through Revelation...he knows he loses in the end, when it's all said and done...God wins...that's all there is to it.
Satan is simply bitter about that, and all he wants to do is take as many people down with him as he can. That's kind-of what TPD illustrates without ever saying it outright. Satan CAN'T win long term....he can only have small victories before his final defeat. So, don't let yourself be one of his conquests, and pray for others that he won't get them, either.

If you didn't get to attend the book talk, read the book anyway when you get a chance.
