Together in Mission

The missional impulse...

"asks its community “How can we help you?” instead of knocking on doors to increase membership. In other words, it becomes a community with open windows and open doors and sees Sunday morning as the opportunity to prepare for a week of service to the community, asking not how many are attending the services but what redemptive traits are we seeing in our community. It wants to embody a life that is other-oriented rather than self-oriented, that is community-directed rather than church-oriented."

It is Enough: Stories and Storytelling

Once to avert disaster, the Baal Shem Tov went into the forest, lit a candle and prayed a special prayer. With God’s help, the disaster was averted.Years later, another disaster confronted the Jews and it fell to his disciple, the Maggid of Mezritch to avert the catastrophe. He said, "I don't know the prayer the Baal Shem Tov used, but I know the place and I can light the candle." So he went to the same place and lit the candle, and it was enough. With God’s help the disaster was averted. After…See More

"When you say post to this group, do you mean to this string of posts or do I use the "+add" button on the upper right hand of this page? "

"Thanks, Darryl! Which gmail account did you post that to of mine? I rarely use Google+. Also, would you like to go ahead add the post in this group? I will then add it to the www.PreachingtoPostmoderns.com website. Thank you!"
