I signed up for our local HFH but never heard from them ... may have to get in touch with a person rather than signing up at the website.

Saturday October 10th is the High Pointe Habitat volunteer day! We are scheduled to do roofing that day. We will also need volunteers to provide lunches for 30 - 40 people.

Also, I had not known before this that you served as a family support mentor for Habitat. That is great. We are going to be sponsoring a build job this year--hopefully you can share with us some about what it means to be a mentor.

As a new member to the network, I would like to ask you to pray for a Habitat family for which I serve as a family support mentor. Taira Warren is a single mom with two boys, age 15 and 7. She moved here from Portland to work for a better life. She is smart, articulate, a hard worker, and is earnng sweat equity hours. She is next on the Habitat list to select a lot for a new home. Right now she is struggling in a difficult job situation and would like to find a new job opportunity. She is an experienced administrative assistant. Please pray that she can find a new job close to home to support her family. We would welcome any "networking" possibilities you might know of in order help her find a new position. Habitat is a wonderful organization with great opportunities for sharing the love of Chist with others in the community!
