We had 73 people visit the food pantry on Wednesday, August 4.  As I visited with the people and asked for prayer requests, it struck me that there are so many single moms struggling to feed their children.  Some have been laid off and others cannot afford to work because they can't afford to pay a baby sitter.  These mothers need hope in their lives and encouragement to continue on.  What an opportunity to teach them that our hope comes from the Lord and that in his own time, he will make everything right.  Please pray for these specific mothers who need lots of prayers and encouragement.

- Lori is a mom with three children, two of which have special needs.  She relies on her small salary to care for them and is so appreciative for help from the Food Pantry.

- Joanna is a mom with a 9-year old son. She doesn’t work because she doesn’t want to leave him at home alone. She only gets $67 a month in food stamps.  She cried because she’s so embarrassed to  ask for help. She needs encouragement, so I told her she could come on a weekly basis as long as she needed. Please pray for Joanna that God will bless her life in whatever way he chooses.

- Shelly and her two daughters came to the pantry for the first time Wednesday. She lost her job one month and her apartment the next month and they are living with friend after friend.  She asked for prayer for a home and a job.
